Rocky View County’s Transportation Services staff is working with bordering municipalities to discuss maintenance initiatives and issues concerning boundary roads.

“Most of the discussions did revolve around joint bans, future buildouts, land purchases [and] synergies that we could do together, but there’s no specific maintenance concerns that came up at that time,” said Steve Hulsman, manager of Transportation Services, at a June 11 council meeting.

According to Hulsman, RVC has maintenance agreements with Mountain View County and the M.D. of Bighorn for certain roads. Although no maintenance agreements are in place with or desired by the City of Calgary, he said, the current communication method between the City and the County has been effective.

He added two specific roads – Township Road 250 east of Range Road 31, and Range Road 23 south of Township Road 262 – will be regularly inspected by County staff, who will notify Calgary if repairs are required.
