A new land use district available withing Central East Rocky View County (RVC) will allow area homeowners to conduct “more intensive” business activity on appropriate residential parcels, following a council vote during a regular meeting Sept. 10.
According to planner Oksana Newmen, administration developed the live/work district on council’s direction, stemming from a notice of motion by Deputy Reeve Al Schule and Coun. Jerry Gautreau at a regular meeting June 25. The adopted bylaw includes a combination of industrial and outdoor storage uses, as well as residential uses, she said.
“As council provided the baseline guidance for the live/work district, administration used the guidance to adjust the district, as it merges industrial uses with residential” Newmen said.
“This really gives us another option for land use, and I really welcome this,” Schule said.
