Rocky View County downgrades fire ban to advisory

Due to ongoing rainy conditions, Rocky View County Fire Services has downgraded its fire ban to an advisory for Rocky View County.

"This advisory represents a moderate fire risk and will remain in effect as long as conditions remain," stated a press release from the County.
 
During a fire advisory, all burning and fireworks permits are suspended, and burning is banned apart from some exceptions. These include indoor household fireplaces, incinerators for farm and acreage use, burning barrels, camp stoves when properly attended to, barbecues, wood pellet grills, propane and natural gas fire pits, recreational camp fires, chimeneas, and fires contained within approved facilities in designated camping and recreational areas.
 
Oil well flaring is also permitted, but must be registered with central fire dispatch beforehand at 403-264-1022.
