RCMP hoping to identify suspects in Balzac stabbing

Airdrie Rural RCMP are looking for the public’s assistance in investigating a stabbing at the Balzac Community Centre on July 4.

According to a press release from the detachment, RCMP officers responded to a reported stabbing at a party that was taking place at the community hall at approximately 3 a.m.

“The victim suffered life threatening injuries,” the release stated. “There were three black males seen fleeing the area and police are requesting assistance in identifying them so they can be interviewed.

“RCMP are also interested in speaking with anyone who may have attended the party, particularly if they have any photos that were taken at the event.”

One of the males who fled is described as standing 5'10" and weighing about 175 to 180 pounds. He wore a white T-shirt with patterns on it, and white or beige pants.

The second and third males are described as being about 5'8" or 5'9", and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds. Both were wearing black clothing, according to the release.
