A redesignation application facilitating the future development of a small driving range was unanimously approved by Rocky View County (RVC) council during a regular meeting Sept. 10.
According to planner Xin Deng, the application applies to 38 acres north of Highway 566 and west of Range Road 14, between Calgary and Airdrie. The driving range would include a tee-off area, a pro shop and a parking lot, she added, noting the driving range would provide a recreation opportunity for residents in the area.
While nobody spoke for or against the application during the public hearing, the condition of Range Road 14 was noted as a concern in letters included in council’s agenda.
“In order to meet County servicing standards, the applicant would be required to upgrade a portion of Range Road 14 to a paved standard,” Deng said.
