Cochrane RCMP are looking for the public's assistance to find the individual who broke into the Edge School for Athletes in Springbank on the morning of June 6.

RCMP in Cochrane are on the hunt for an individual suspected of breaking into the Edge School for Athletes on the morning of June 6.

Cst. Jennifer Brewer with the Cochrane detachment said that law enforcement is “actively looking for the suspect” and “seeking assistance from the public.”

According to a press release, an individual gained access to the private school in Springbank through a window and was inside for several hours. The suspect stole multiple items before leaving the location just before 6 a.m., as observed by a staff member who was arriving at the time.

At this time, RCMP are still working to determine the nature of the stolen items. The press release describes the suspect as a young man, who is thin but fit and drives a tan or beige Jeep.

It is clear to law enforcement that the individual had knowledge of the building and had been there before. According to Brewer, this could include a current or past student or an individual who has been to the Edge School for an after-school program and was familiar with the facility.

Cochrane RCMP is asking anyone with information related to this case to please contact the detachment at 403-851-8000 or their local police. If they wish to remain anonymous, they can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at P3Tips.com or by using the "P3 Tips" app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
