Cochrane RCMP are looking into a fatal hit and run that took place in Morley Jan. 3

According to a press release issued that same day, police received a complaint regarding the fatal collision and, once on the scene, discovered a deceased 40-year-old woman from Morley.

"Soon after arrival, the individuals in the vehicle returned to the scene and approached police," the release stated.

A 19-year-old woman from Morley now faces several charges, including failure to stop after an accident causing death, driving without a license and driving without insurance.

"The investigation into the cause of the collision continues, however, police believe speed played a role and further charges are pending," the release stated. "Alcohol was not a factor in this collision."
