Chestermere RCMP seeking missing person

The Chestermere RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 69-year-old Vida Smith, who was last seen July 21 in Chestermere.

The Chestermere RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 69-year-old Vida Smith, who was last seen July 21 in Chestermere. According to a press release from the detachment, Smith did not return home after visiting Calgary that day.

"Her family have not been in contact with her since July 21 and efforts to locate Vida have been unsuccessful," the statement read. "[Smith] is believed to have been in the Sunridge area of northeast Calgary in the early afternoon of July 21.

Chestermere RCMP and Smith's family are concerned for her wellbeing and wish to speak with her. She is described as being 5'3" tall and 111 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes and a slender build.

She was last seen wearing a black tank top and a patterned skirt, while holding a black purse.
