One of the things that we all struggle with is change. I’m not talking about some New Year’s resolution that gets broken soon after it is made, but rather about lasting change. It’s hard to make that kind of change.

All of the opposition parties in Ottawa appear to be setting up for another election. This time, they are attacking the Harper government’s business tax relief, demanding that business taxes be hiked.

We’re pleased at the precedent Rocky View County council continues to set. It seems promises - made during last fall’s election campaign - to listen and make decisions based on public sentiment were heart-felt.

Parents, have you had ‘the talk’ with your kids? After two recent incidents involving predators attempting to lure children in our region (see story on page 7), local residents have to do whatever they can to protect our youth.

Trivia question: How many left-wing political parties are there in Alberta? Answer: Who cares? The truth is there are four, five if you count the deficit-loving Progressive Conservatives.

Before jumping to my main message, I want to thank Premier Ed Stelmach for his many years of public service to his community and to our province.

It’s disturbing that so many Rocky View residents have such poor access to health care.
