In the last two weeks, I’ve had the privilege of talking with some of our County’s finest ranchers and farmers.

Our government recently announced an important anti-bullying initiative. Laureen Harper, wife of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, announced a large contribution to the Canadian Red Cross’ Stand Up to Bullying program.

It has now been over two weeks since unprecedented flooding destroyed property washed away infrastructure and threatened communities across our region. In that time, we have witnessed the largest coordinated emergency response in Alberta’s history.

I was on vacation in Kelowna for the celebration of Canada Day on July 1. Kelowna does the day up right by starting with what they call Folkfest, a celebration of a variety of countries and cultures that are represented in that city.
