In light of Pink Shirt Day, I want to talk about something that really irritates the stuffing out of me…bullying. Everyone has experienced it at some point in their lives; an older sibling, that mean kid at school, the boss who just lives to point out your shortcomings; bullies come in all shapes and sizes and they have one goal, to negatively impact you.

Words are fascinating. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved language. My first word was ‘stuck,’ and I was reading by the time I was two.

Love is a many splendid thing. It’s also complicated, frustrating, annoying, exhilarating, comforting and blissful. I am happily married, but some days my husband seems to go out of his way to drive me insane.

After giving our family calendar a once over earlier this week it became apparent to my wife and I that our eight-year-old son, through no fault of his own, is driving our schedules.

I need to make better use of the ‘unfollow’ option on Facebook. Lately, a surprising number of people I know have been sharing their firmly “anti-vax” position, and seeing their posts pop up on my timeline is making me question my own judgment.

All the cool kids are doing it. And, yes, I do it, too. In this case “it” is knitting, quilting and engaging in other crafty endeavours.
