Letter: Treat others the way you would like to be treated

Dear editor, It is so sad that those who choose to not get vaccinated can still affect the rest of us. If only we could be in control of our own health.

Dear editor,

It is so sad that those who choose to not get vaccinated can still affect the rest of us. If only we could be in control of our own health.

It was with complete horror that I heard the recent announcement by our politicians of Alberta that mandatory self-isolation and testing requirements would soon be deemed optional. We have all had a really hard time through this pandemic. On a personal level, I was diagnosed with lung cancer in April 2020, and have come to associate my diagnosis with the arrival of the pandemic. I am by no means the only one who has been going through extra health issues during this time.

But never mind the fact I have not felt safe since the start of this pandemic, I take issue with some of the actions by some people. Please, if you don’t want to believe this virus is still real and a threat, at least don’t get into other people's space. Wear a mask if you feel sick, as you don’t know what other people are living with.

Let's please go back to a form of civilized politeness and treat others as we would like to be treated.
