Dear editor,
I was in Safeway recently, and when I was going through the till, I realized I did not have enough money on my debit card to pay for the cat food I needed to buy. A wonderful gentleman in line behind me quickly said, "I've got this," and handed the cashier $30. He even instructed the cashier to give me the change
Since my sister and I moved to Airdrie in 1998, we have met so many great people. The city has grown a lot, but truly keeps that small-town feel, and that gentleman at the grocery store was an excellent example of this.
I want to thank that man a hundred times over for his kindness. This has been a difficult month for us, with me on disability and my sister on a pension, and that simple act of generosity made it all worthwhile.
I would deeply appreciate it if you could make some mention of this in your newspaper.
