Re: "Council ratifies budget, ushering in 5.97 per cent tax increase," article, Airdrie City View, Dec. 8, 2022
Dear editor,
I am not happy about another property tax increase. The City of Airdrie should start looking for ways to save money. Start by issuing water bills every two months, rather than every 28 days. This means six billings a year, instead of 13, and people could go on a budget plan similar to other utilities.
Blue bins could be collected biweekly, alternating with the green bins, all year long. Most people do not even put their bins out every week. Very few municipalities offer weekly service.
I am sure the citizens of Airdrie could offer other cost saving ideas. Just ask us.
