Dear editor,

On May 7, the Airdrie Over 50 Club held a very successful fundraiser. The event was a dinner featuring Ukrainian food, served to about 65 members and friends. Dessert, coffee, tea, and wine were additional goodies that attendees could enjoy.

The club wants to show appreciation to all who made the evening a success, as well as the workers, donors, and six business owners who generously contributed with funds, a food basket, and gift cards. A $50 food basket raffle raised $174, and the total net proceeds after the final tally will equal about $1,700.

Other business donors included Davis Automotive, WB Automotive, Safeway, the Co-op, Real Canadian Superstore, and Sobeys.

The Over 50 Club will choose a family (or two) arriving to Airdrie or area to receive the funds. Thanks to our MP Blake Richards for assisting the club with this fundraiser.

The Over 50 Club's ways and means director and fundraising head Arnold Kurz wants to thank all workers and club member Annie Kuzicki for initiating this event, as well as Olle for catering the delicious Ukrainian meal.
