Dear editor,

This is in respose to the dog attack that Robert Mckague suffered on June 26 along the Sandstone Park pathway.

I also ride a bike to work and off-leash dogs on this pathway are a dangerous problem. So many times I have been chased for long distances by dogs that have other intentions than just running alongside me. Nothing stops these dogs from pursuing.

The fences on either side of what is an already narrow pathway trap everyone close together, and irresponsible dog owners with aggressive dogs aren't going away.

I've been lucky to date, but my luck will run out and so will others, as we saw with poor Robert.

This is a bad place for off-leash dogs and requires immediate correction, if it's not already too late.
