Dear editor,

This letter is addressed to those Canadian voters who marked an X next to their local New Democratic Party (NDP) candidate's name in the last election. I’ll bet you really thought you were electing an individual that would stand up for the NDP platform.

In fact, you essentially voted for the Liberal party. It’s now very apparent NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are cut from the same cloth. I bet it makes you wish you’d paid more attention to what matters in a leader.

It’s rather ironic. The NDP had the perfect opportunity to play the hero in current Canadian politics but instead, they decided to keep Trudeau at the helm of our country and simultaneously branded themselves as having the same ethics  – or lack thereof – as the current government.

Whatever most Canadians thought of the NDP before this week has now gone out the window. All the pretenses are gone and it’s apparent Singh’s NDP will bend to Trudeau’s every whim. Next election, let’s not forget this travesty.
