Dear Editor,
I am writing to voice an issue of concern regarding the curbside blue bin program in Airdrie. Specifically, I have qualms with the poor choice the City of Airdrie chose for their blue bins carts.
These carts are not heavy enough. The lids blow open very easily in a mild wind and the entire cart blows over in moderate to stronger winds. The blown over bins are then free to spill their contents and the recyclables are then blown thoughout the neighbourhood.
I will end this brief letter by suggesting that Airdrie looks like a debris field on blue cart days. I for one am getting tired of having to pick up other people's trash because the City won't recognize it is a problem and fix it.
