Dear editor,

We fully agree with the Village of Beiseker's decision to implement the Restrictions Exemption Program for Village-owned facilities, particularly as it applies to the Beiseker Arena.

The REP allows the facility to operate as normally as possible for the benefit of our youth and community. It allows for the concession to be open and for adult teams to rent ice times – an estimated $15,000 benefit the arena would not receive without the REP.

Unfortunately, there is a small but very vocal group opposed to the Village's decision. What is disappointing is the verbal abuse that our dedicated volunteers on the Beiseker Agriculture Society and the Beiseker Minor Hockey Association are subjected to for applying the rules that benefit our community.

To Tyler Metzger and the other volunteers involved with the Beiseker Arena, we thank you for your dedication in these most trying times.

John and Jeannette Richter
