At the beginning of Senior's Week on June 5, Airdrie Over 50 Club ways and means director Arnold Kurz completed a presentation to a family from Ukraine of over $1,000 and certificates provided and made possible through fundraising and the generosity of local businesses.
Michael and Jenny, a beautiful couple, left war-torn Ukraine with the help of Airdrie's Glenn Smaha of Davis Chevrolet. On the evening of June 5, Michael and Jenny were invited to the Over 50 Club to enjoy an evening of fun and laughter as Richard and Deborah Popowich entertained with their brand of musical comedy.
It is expected the club will soon support another couple from Ukraine who are new to Airdrie.
