Dear editor,

On Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, the “Friends of 88 Society” will be hosting a bottle drive. Parent volunteers will be located at the Real Canadian Superstore just off of Veterans Boulevard, in parking lot across from the Gas Bar between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to collect bottles and cash donations.

Due to restrictions related to COVID-19, our local air cadets are unable to go door to door as they have done in the past. Parent volunteers are organizing this fundraising initiative on their own. All funds collected will go to supporting the operating costs of the local squadron. Although the cadets cannot meet or parade in person yet, online virtual programming is still being offered.

88 Lynx Airdrie Air Cadets also has an account set up at the Home Town Bottle Depot behind Superstore. If anyone would like to donate directly at the bottle depot, just ask the cashier at the grocery store to allocate the funds to the Airdrie Air Cadet’s account.

We'd like to thank people in advance who generously donate their bottles and provide case donations to this event

For more information please contact Carmen Volk, chair of the Friends of 88 Society squadron, at 403-835-0725 or [email protected], or visit airdrieaircadets.ca for more information
