Re: "City celebrates Dr. José Rizal monument unveiling in Nose Creek Regional Park," Oct. 28, article, Airdrie City View

Dear editor,

Kudos to Jun Martin, president of the Filipino Airdrie Association, and its faithful members for the historic successful unveiling ceremony of the first monument of our dearly beloved national hero, Dr. José Rizal, at beautiful Nose Creek Park. I salute Consul General of Calgary, honourable Zaldy Patron, for giving his blessing in locating the shrine here in Airdrie – a vibrant city for Filipino Canadians. A sincere thanks and most profound appreciation goes to Muhammed Yaseed, Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism, and the presence of our newly elected city councillors, headed by Mayor Peter Brown. It was a timely occasion as we are going to celebrate our National Heroes Day and Dr. José Rizal’s anniversary this month. Cheers! Mabuhay!
