Susan Silbernagel 2

Susan Margaret Silbernagel (Wise) was born December 19, 1954 to Willys and Beverly Wise of Irricana, Alberta and passed away November 30, 2020.

Sue attended school at Irricana, Kathyrn and Beiseker, then night classes at the U of C and S.A.I.T while working for Alberta Social Services. In June 1977 she married Ray and moved to the farm north west of Beiseker and soon after went to work as Municipal Administrator for the Village of Irricana. In 1983 she started her home business, Sue Books, including tax preparation and bookkeeping for local businesses. Sue volunteered to do annual audits for several Community Service Clubs in the area.

Sue loved to travel, going on cruises, nights by the campfire, dressing up with friends for Halloween, Grey Cup parties, supporting the Calgary Stampeders, annual trips with the girls to Vegas, time in Radium and always up for a visit with friends, where you could be guaranteed laughs, food, and a card game.

Sue is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Raymond, her brother Bill Wise of Brooks, Sisters Donna Hay of Carbon and Kelly (Kevin) Schmaltz of Vernon, Sisters in law Myrtle Silbernagel of Lethbridge and Linda (Larry) Konschuk of Airdrie, Nephews and Nieces, David Wise, Bonnie (Mike) England, Peter (Chantalle) Van Otterloo, Tanya Van Otterloo (Drew Halter), Brandy Hay-Morgan (Jason), Stephanie Hay Evans, Dennis (Lori) Silbernagel, Shelley Silbernagel-Saelens, Martin (Andrea) Silbernagel, Barry (Jen) Silbernagel and her Great Nephews and Nieces Katie, Brooks, Nash, Sophie, Chesney, Stephanie, Zoe & Jessica. Sue took great comfort in the connections with many of her friend’s children who always took the time to call and check in with her.

She was predeceased by her parents: Beverly & Willys Wise, her in laws Eugene Mastel, Theresa Mastel (Silbernagel) Brothers-in-law Daryl Hay, Doug and Harold Silbernagel; nephew Dale Silbernagel.

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the K.I.K Seniors Citizens Club P.0. Box 454 Irricana, AB T0M 1B0.
