Gordon Salomons, loving husband of Debora Rice-Salomons of Rockyview County, passed away at their Ranch from natural causes on Monday April 26, 2021 at the age of 69 years.

Gordon was born on September 13, 1951 in Lacombe, AB, the son of Henry and Gay (nee Brouwer) Salomons.  After graduating from University of Alberta in Geology he had many adventures in work and travel.  From Cardinal River Mines in Hinton to Columbia, England, Nigeria, Vietnam, Russia & Yemen where he met his wife, Debora.   Gordon travelled widely, fishing, hunting, skiing, and touring the world.   He retired to his ranch in 2005 where he loved to look after his horses.  He had a wonderful life of fishing, fencing and enjoying family and friends.   He was the tall good-looking cowboy that was happy to help neighbours and friends known as the local “snow angel”.  Gordon enjoyed hauling horses and lending a hand at rodeos for brother-in-law John Duffy.  No one was better suited to the ranch life than Gordon, a Marlboro Man, with a slow smile and a big mustache.

Gordon is survived by his wife Debora, a large family, sisters Ruth Krabbe, Rose (John) Salomons, JoAnn (Bill) Sommerfeld, in-laws John and Kathy Duffy, Trudy Rice and Lorena Ann Rice, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.   Gordon enjoyed his special family, stepson Roch (Pearl) Romanson, stepdaughter Christine Romanson and was Grandpa Gord to Devin, Logan, Olivia, Savannah and Chase.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Alberta Fish and Game Association at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/the-alberta-fish-and-game-association.

A Celebration of Life will occur when we are able to gather and toast his wonderful and full life. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Gordon’s obituary via http://www.fostersgardenchapel.ca/
