MAY, Larry Douglas

March 20th, 1946 – Calgary, Alberta

June 17th, 2020 – Crossfield, Alberta

Larry May passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the age of 74 years.

Larry was the type of man who would help out anyone he could and was willing to give the shirt off his back. A solid handshake was Larry’s word. He always had a smart-ass response for anyone he interacted with and will be dearly missed by those who knew him. Larry mostly worked construction, and the latter part of his life was spent on the family farm. Spending time with his grandkids, Mysie and Hudson brought him true happiness; just the mention of their names would light up his face with pride.

Larry is survived by his son Sam (Dorothy) May, daughter Cora (Matt) Dumais, grandchildren, Tylour (Jessi) Vetra, Autumn Waddington, Mysie, Hudson Dumais; and great-grandson Carter Vetra.  He is also survived by his brother, Allan (Sandy) May, sisters, Pat (Jerald) Williams and Bonnie Sue (Jeff) Fernandes;  brother-in-law Lambert (Andrea) Van Dongen, sisters-in-law, Jo-Ann (Fred) Dumont and Sandy Van Dongen, as well as many cousins’, nieces, and nephews.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Louise May, parents, Richard and Irene May, brother Terry May, and nephew Jeff Dumont.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.  If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to STARS Air Ambulance, 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 8M7, Tel; 403-295-1811; www.stars.ca, https://foundation.stars.ca/AB-tributegift . Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Larry’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
