Joseph James Keeping

August 31, 1969 – August 2, 2019
We regret to announce Joseph’s passing. He is survived by his Loving Father Reginald, Mother Ena, Brother Todd, Sister-in-law Geraldine, Nephew Damian and Niece Brittany.
Joe was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and grew up in Harbour Mille, Newfoundland. Joe worked with the Coast Guard for a time and was trained in cooking (which he loved to do). He moved to Alberta in 1996 and spent his first 10 years in Brooks, AB. He then moved to Irricana, AB and lived there 14 years. In 2019, he was living in Beiseker, AB. Joe worked in the oilfield as a pipefitter, a job he truly enjoyed.
Joe also had a love for traveling, whether camping an hour from home, a day kayaking or traveling abroad. Joe made it to a lot of places: St. Thomas, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico City, Dominican Republic, Cayman Islands, Boston, Panama Canal and Mazatlan, from one side of Canada to the other to name some of them. We wish him luck on this trip, one we will all make eventually. When we do, we will all finally meet again.
Services will be held in Harbour Mille, Newfoundland September 1, 2019.
