Devon James Helfrich

It is with profound sadness we announce our son and brother Devon James Helfrich passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the age of 32 years. Devon is lovingly remembered by his parents Calvin and Elizabeth; brother, Cameron (Stephanie) and grandmother, Elaine Bickell. He also leaves behind a loving extended family and community of lifelong friends.
He was born in Calgary, Alberta on October 16, 1988 and was raised, worked and lived in Crossfield until his passing.
Devon had a passion for politics and his home town. He became a member of Crossfield Town Council in 2015 until present. He truly loved the Town of Crossfield and wanted to make a difference in his community and enjoyed interacting with people and learning their story.
Hockey, baseball and camping were some of his favourite activities. He was a dedicated San Jose Sharks fan and never missed a game. Devon also loved to travel; Kalamalka Lake was Devon’s favourite place to spend warm summer days with his lake family.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
