BASTIEN, Darrin Anthony

March 18, 1967 – Windsor, Ontario

December 17, 2020 – Rocky View County, Alberta

Darrin Bastien, best friend and soulmate to Lisa Gionet, best friend and father to Darrin J. (Kelly Agostinis) and Dylan Bastien (Sydney Calver), and grandpa to Darrin Jr., the 3rd, passed away on  Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the age of 53 years.

Darrin was the ultimate hero to so many people; our family’s rock and he truly lived his life to the max. He was born and raised in Amherstburg, Ontario but spent the last 10 years in Alberta; a place he loved; a place where he left a legacy. The legacy he leaves behind is huge. He dedicated his life and hard work for his boys to carry on his name and keep him proud. He was a great friend to many people. Always there any time anyone needed anything. Darrin was kind and generous; a teacher, mentor and a father figure.

Darrin will be tremendously missed by Brandon Mallot, Sierra and Lucas Lucier, Sheri Pruyn and so many others. Darrin is now resting with his father Jack Bastien, and will be especially missed by his mom Pat Bastien (Don), his sister Kelly Bastien (Lou), his brother Robbie Bastien, aunts and uncles, cousins (some of which were like his kids),  nieces and nephews, and friends; as well as many extended family and his dogs, Brutus, Zoey and Sadie. Darrin Bastien left a huge mark in this world. He may be gone but is impossible to forget.

Do not cry for me

I am not gone

My soul is at rest

My heart lives in

Light a candle for me to see

And hold on to my memory

But save your tears

For I am still here

By your side

Through the years
