Karl Heinz Barfrieder
January 9, 1936-March 12, 2021
On a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, Karl passed peacefully, with his family by his side, to continue to his next journey. Karl is survived by his partner Kathie Gaudes, his son Sheldon (Tracey), grandsons Steve, Jason (Katelynn) and Scott and great grandsons Grayson, Ari, Nash, and Noah. Also, his sister Ursula Riedrich and family in Germany. Karl will also be deeply missed by Kathie’s family, sons Jim (Lil) Haacke, Tim (Juralyn) Haacke and their families.
Karl enjoyed the functions at the Airdrie Over 50 Club, be it playing bridge, cribbage, Kaiser, or carpet bowling, he was there for every game. He also enjoyed many a Friday morning playing pool.
Karl’s greatest passion was golf, he would play everyday if he could. Many thanks to his “Boys” Barry, Gary, Jim, Roy, and Doug for driving him around to the various golf courses, he always looked forward to and enjoyed the game.
Many thanks to the Dr.’s and nurses on Unit 49 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital and the compassionate care by Dr. Louw and staff and the Dulcina Hospice.
