Game 1 of the NBA Finals by the numbers

TORONTO — Some notes on Game 1 of the NBA Finals won 118-109 by Toronto over Golden State:

— Teams that win Game 1 of the NBA Finals have a 51-21 (.708) series record.

— Teams that win Game 1 of the NBA Finals at home have a 43-12 (.782) series record.

— Thursday's loss ended the Warriors' streak of 12 consecutive victories in Game 1s.

— Toronto's Pascal Siakam scored a career-playoff-high 32 points on 14-of-17 (82.4 per cent) shooting from the field. He is the first player to score 30 or more points on at least 80 per cent shooting from the field since Shaquille O'Neal on June 6, 2004.

— Siakam scored the most points in an NBA Finals debut since Kevin Durant in 2012 (36 points).  It was also the most points in an NBA Finals game by an NBA G League alum.

— Golden State's Draymond Green (10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) recorded his ninth career playoff triple-double, tying Wilt Chamberlain for seventh place on the NBA's all-time post-season list. This is Green's fifth triple-double of the 2019 post-season and third in a row.

— With his second three-pointer of Game 1, Golden State's Stephen Curry became the first player to reach 100 career threes in the NBA Finals.

— With his fifth three-point attempt, Curry passed LeBron James for the most threes attempted in NBA Finals history. Curry has now attempted 256 three-pointers in the NBA Finals. James has attempted 251 threes in the NBA Finals.

— Curry (34 points) passed Patrick Ewing for 31st place on the NBA's all-time post-season scoring list. Curry now has 2,819 playoff points. Ewing has 2,813 playoff points.

— Curry shot 14-of-14 from the free throw line, one shy of Terry Porter's NBA Finals record for most free throws made without a miss.

— With his three-pointer in the first quarter, Toronto's Danny Green passed Mario Chalmers for sole possession of 12th place on the all-time NBA Finals list. It was Green's 37th Finals triple. Chalmers has 36 Finals threes.

— With his seventh point tonight, Toronto's Kawhi Leonard reached 2,000 career post-season points. He became the 60th player with at least 2,000 playoff points.
