More than 100 police officers from Western Canada, as well as 30 professional bull riders, will be in Airdrie this weekend for a rodeo unlike any other. The 28th annual Calgary Police Rodeo is set to run at the Airdrie Pro Rodeo Grounds on Aug.

Alberta’s youth reining champions have added an international accolade to their resume, after claiming the gold medal at the North American Junior and Young Riders Championship in Kentucky late last month.

A local girl is this year’s 2D Youth Champion at the Irvine Tack & Trailers Barrel Racing Series in Crossfield. Angela Cambruzzi, 16, won the championship with her 11-year-old quarter horse Annie in a time of 19.0 seconds.
