Lions roar to victory The Cochrane Lions won the Calgary Bantam Football Association’s (CBFA) Division III Championship with a 40-20 win over the Airdrie Storm, Nov. 5, at Shouldice Park in Calgary.

The Springbank Phoenix’s season came to an end, Nov. 5, after they were defeated by the Holy Trinity Academy Knights 10-7 in the regional qualifying game in Okotoks.

In a rematch of their opening game of the season, Cochrane Cobras defeated the Bow Valley Bobcats 49-6, Oct. 21, to finish the regular season with a perfect 6W-0L record.

A Bert Church touchdown off the opening kick wasn’t enough to phase the Springbank Phoenix, as they rallied to beat the Chargers 45-14 in the Rocky View Sports Association division semifinal, Oct. 22.

The Rocky View Sports Association (RVSA) varsity boys volleyball regular season came to an end, Oct. 26.

The Airdrie Storm were hoping for a strong showing in their first playoff game of the season, and a strong showing it was. The Storm defeated the Calgary Wildcats 55-17, Oct. 22.

Chestermere may have jumped out to an early lead, but the Mustangs wrestled back the momentum and stampeded to a 48-15 win Oct. 22 to advance to the divisional Tier II final.
