The Airdrie Xtreme advanced to the second round of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL) playoffs by defeating the Lethbridge Golden Hawks in two straight games last week.

Airdrie’s Darrell Belyk won two weight classes at an arm wrestling competition in Swift Current, Sask., last weekend. Twenty-three competitors from arm wrestling clubs Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba were at the event.

The Rocky View Sports Associationís (RVSA) curling divisionals were held at the Airdrie Curling Club Feb. 8 and 9, with schools all over the County claiming medals.

The Hershey’s Track and Field regional open has officially announced plans to return to Airdrie. The second annual meet will take place at Genesis Place’s outdoor track on May 10 and is open to anyone born between 1998 and 2005.
