A Grade 10 student-athlete from Beiseker Community School has put the small school's wrestling program on the 'mat,' wrestling his way to the school's first provincial banner in the sport on March 18 in Lethbridge, at the Alberta Scho

Kinley said his long-time passion for soccer lies in its simplicity.

Hughes said she's been swimming for 11 years, and likes the competitive environment the sport presents.

The Xtreme will be considered a favourite to win the provincial gold, after dominating the AEHL south division with a 33-1 regular-season record and then sweeping their first two playoff opponents.

“I loved the environment and I loved seeing all the women involved,” King said. “It’s just overall a great program.”

The 2022-23 high-school basketball season is officially in the books, and four Airdrie teams went the distance, qualifying for and competing at their respective provincial championship tournaments.

According to the Dinos, Olsen registered a team-high 258 kills, 152 digs, 40 blocks, and 28 service aces this season. She recorded double-digit kills in 13 of her games, and was also just one of three Dinos members to play all 99 sets the team took to the floor for this season. 

Tim Massé is officially calling it a career at the end of March, after a nearly 30-year teaching and coaching career at George McDougall High School.

“It just felt like we lost our scoring touch there in the last couple of games,” said Buckle.

“We played [the Rebels] six or five times this year and they’re a tough opponent that creates a lot of offence,” Boychuk said. “We need to be ready for that, because they’ve been playing really good hockey. It should be a really good battle.”
