After introducing the soccer festival in 2022, the Irricana Beiseker Soccer Association (IBSA) is excited to bring the event back bigger and better than last year on June 17 to the grassy pitches of Irricana.

"They put trust in each other and that’s what builds the bonds to make a better team," Durand said.

“I never thought I’d come this far when I was just a rookie in high school,” he said. 

“It felt like everything came together in the end.”

Six Springbank students attended the provincial championships at Foote Field, which wrapped up Alberta's high-school track season and featured the best athletes from across the province in grades 10 through 12.

Bert Church football coach Steve Larsen said it's a major achievement to see five graduating members of the school's football team continue their careers beyond the high-school level.

The three members of Airdrie's local baton-twirling club will be among Team Canada's cohort of 26 athletes who travel to England to compete against many of the best baton-twirlers in the world.

The Airdrie Irish are just days away from their 2023 Alberta Football League (AFL) season-opener, which gets underway this Saturday in Lacombe.

Bert Church finished the 2023 regular season with an unbeaten 6-0-0 record, putting the Chargers clear at the top of the Rocky View Sports Association (RVSA) standings. In their six matches this spring, the Chargers have outscored their opponents 23-3.
