Brooks has countered with a series best performance over Okotoks.
The Brooks Bandits scored four second period goals and six unanswered to overpower the Okotoks Oilers 8-2 in Game 5 of the BCHL Alberta Division semifinal Friday night at the Centennial Regional Arena to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven set.
Oilers centre Jackson Rowland scored just 40 seconds into the contest with Bandits captain Nicholas DeGraves answering just over a minute later.
Brooks took firm control with a dominant middle stanza with Logan Sawyer scoring the first two of his three tallies on the night along with Parker Lalonde and Mirko Buttazzoni markers. Sam Hall scored a powerplay goal for the visitors in the late stages.
The Oilers will need to rally on home ice in Game 6 and hope the series trend of win-loss-win-loss continues.
