Airdrie lost a man many considered to be a founding father when local businessman and philanthropist Hugh Hamilton passed away unexpectedly at the age of 85 on Dec. 23.

Prior to his passing on Dec. 23, Airdrie businessman Hugh Hamilton donated 10 acres of land to the Airdrie Health Foundation (AHF), which could help to finally establish 24-hour healthcare in Airdrie.

It was an up and down year for members of the Airdrie Health Foundation (AHF) as they continued to try to bring improved healthcare services to the residents of Airdrie.
