Mother Nature reminded Albertans that winter isn’t over when a storm moved in March 3 bringing heavy snow and winds.

Rocky View Schools (RVS) board of trustees approved an accommodation plan for Cochrane’s Glenbow Elementary and Mitford Middle School, March 7.

Council dropped its currently wastewater off-site levy bylaw in preparation for a cost-recovery structure, March 5. During the meeting, Stuart Jewison, operations manager for Rocky View, told council the current bylaw is outdated.

The Province approved 16 of the 20 portables Rocky View Schools (RVS) requested for the 2013/2014 school year. The announcement, made at the RVS board of trustees’ meeting, March 7, was met with excited delight by trustees.

Irricana Town council approved increased rates for the Irricana Lions Community Hall rentals during its meeting on March 4. The hall board hopes the rate increase of five per cent in the coming year will improve cost recovery to 65 per cent.

Town council approved the Irricana and Rural Municipal Library’s 2013 budget during its regular meeting, March 4. The budget includes $80,718.73 in expenses for the upcoming year and $81,925.54 in revenues.
