Road Closure Bylaws

Rocky View County council approved two road closure bylaws during the April 30 regular meeting.

One bylaw, which Engineering Support Technician Angela Pare said received first reading following a public hearing Nov. 27, 2018, rectified an error from a road closure bylaw previously approved in November 2015. The second bylaw, to close and consolidate 1.43 acres of undeveloped road allowance off Springbank Heights Way, received first reading Nov. 15, 2018.

With approval granted from Alberta Transportation, council unanimously passed second and third readings to both bylaws.

First Parcel Out

Council also approved a subdivision application for a 10-acre First Parcel Out on land located northeast of Crossfield at the junction of Township Road 292 and Range Road 291.

According to planner Jamie Kirychuk, staff determined the application was compliant with all relevant legislation and policy, but was referred to council due to a letter of concern from a neighbouring landowner regarding the future access of a portion of the remainder. Gurbir Nijjar, acting supervisor of Engineering, assured council accessibility was not a problem, and council voted unanimously to approve the subdivision.
