The City of Airdrie wants to inform residents of road closures that will be in place Dec. 7, due to the Santa Claus Parade on Main Street.
According to a press release, closures will start at Veterans Blvd and end at Allen Street, between 4 and 6 p.m. The Alberta Health Services (AHS) Urgent Care Centre at 604 Main Street S.E. will remain open during this time.
Starting at 4 p.m., three access points to Urgent Care – from Allen Street and Main Street, First Ave. N and Main Street, and Veterans Blvd and Main Street – will be manned by emergency responders who can provide a preliminary patient assessment and/or escort to the Urgent Care Centre.
On the same afternoon, the CP Holiday Train will pass through Nose Creek Regional Park at 5:45 p.m., resulting in slow-moving traffic along Main Street and in the area.
"Due to the popularity of these events, we anticipate the evening festivities to be very busy," the City's press release read. "We recommend residents visit airdrie.ca/holidayadventure to plan accordingly.
