Leaked data showing an alleged list of donors to the “Freedom Convoy” revealed more than 150 from Airdrie-area postal codes.
Data detailing identifiable information for some 92,845 donors to the Freedom Convoy’s GiveSendGo campaign was leaked on Feb. 13 by non-profit whistleblowing organization Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoS). According to a statement on DDoS's website, the data has since been removed from DDoS and is only available to researchers and journalists.
Great West Media obtained a copy of the donor list and has reached out to DDoS to verify its authenticity, but has not yet been able to do so.
According to the alleged list, at least 152 people from Airdrie-area postal codes (T4A and T4B) donated to the protest effort, with their donations ranging from $10 to $1,000.
Many of those from Airdrie who are alleged to have contributed to the campaign left comments alongside their information.
“Sending love and support from Airdrie, Alberta,” one comment read. “Huge respect for the Freedom Convoy 2022! Thank you for standing up for the rights and freedoms of Canadians against the tyranny the government is trying to impose upon us all. Hold the line! Honk honk!”
Another comment from an Airdrie-area donor read as follows:
“God bless the truckers, their families, the organizers, volunteers and supporters. Keep standing strong peacefully, firmly and prayerfully. No weapon formed against you will ever prosper. Our grandchildren should not have to choose between a vaccination or an education. God is with us. Let us continue to cover our Freedom Fighters and country covered in prayer. We will be victorious. God bless you.”
