Turner Valley RCMP is asking the public to help identify a fraud suspect who obtained a debit card at an Airdrie bank.

According to a press release, the unidentified male produced falsified identification at the local ATB Financial branch on July 6.

"The suspect had working knowledge of the victim's name, social insurance number and date of birth," the release stated.

In the 24 hours after receiving the debit card, the suspect made withdrawals exceeding $26,000 from sites in and around Calgary including the Grey Eagle Resort Casino and Elbow River Casinos.

"This suspicious and out of character activity caused the bank to lock down the victim's account at which time the thefts and impersonation were discovered and reported to police," the release said.
