Less than a week after putting out a structure fire in Windsong Heights, Airdrie Fire Department responded to yet another fire at a local residence, this time in Midtown, on the evening of May 14.
A City of Airdrie press release indicates the fire emerged at a duplex and damaged the two units. Firefighting efforts contained damage to both units involved in the fire.
Initially, all but one adult had been accounted for, according to the release, but the resident has since been located safe. As of issuing the press release, the City stated one dog and one cat were still missing. One adult was assessed for smoke inhalation, and AFD crews planned to remain on scene to manage any hot spots.
The Fire Prevention Bureau will be conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
Crossfield Fire Department personnel also attended to the scene, according to the release, with two apparatus as standby resources.
Thirteen firefighters and four fire engines responded to the incident.
