An Airdrie man arrested following a Dec. 30 incident in which a stolen pick-up truck rammed into an Okotoks RCMP cruiser will be indicted on all four counts he'd been charged with.
Chadwick Brian Devaux, 35, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failure to comply with a release order, and resisting a peace officer.
Crown prosecutor Alyx Nanji made the move to indict Devaux on all counts on Jan. 13 during a scheduled hearing in Okotoks provincial court, opening up the possibility of trial by jury.
At the time of Devaux's arrest, the accused was found to have multiple outstanding arrest warrants and was remanded into custody.
At approximately 10:30 p.m on Dec. 30, Okotoks RCMP spotted a stolen pick-up truck in the 200-block of Southridge Drive. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver drove into the front end of the police vehicle and fled the area. No injuries were sustained by officers as a result of this incident.
The stolen pick-up was later spotted entering Calgary's Silverado neighbourhood, where the two occupants left the vehicle and entered a residence.
Okotoks RCMP, Calgary Police Service officers, and the Calgary Police Dog Service collaborated to recover the vehicle and arrest Devaux and Zoulton Bonin, 37, of Calgary.
Bonin has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The two were found to be in possession of numerous stolen items.
Devaux is set to return to court Jan. 20, while Bonin will make his first appearance Feb. 3.
