Blake Richards elected for fourth term

Conservative Blake Richards has reclaimed his seat as the Member of Parliament for Banff-Airdrie.

The incumbent will now serve his fourth term as MP after early results indicate he has captured an insurmountable lead with 58 per cent of polls reporting. According to unofficial results from Elections Canada, Richards has captured 32,100 of the riding's 107,281 electors.

Following Richards is Liberal candidate Gwyneth Midgley with 4,267 votes, New Democratic Party candidate Anne Wilson with 4,156 votes, People's Party candidate Nadine Wellwood with 1,502 votes and Green Party candidate Austin Mullins with 1,563 votes.
