The Cochrane and Area Humane Society (CAHS) “pawsed” for a moment to receive a sizeable donation from Vintage West Wines’ Shauna Hansen.
Although it wasn’t quite noon, it turns out that “wine time” is anytime when it comes to raising money. The fundraiser ran across Alberta – featuring its popular Bread and Butter wines – for the CAHS and the Alberta SPCA - where 50 cents from each bottle sold supported vulnerable animals.
The “kitty” reached a grand total of $15,000 – with half going to the CAHS.
Communications coordinator Tiffany Beaton enthusiastically led reporters on a tour of the facility and spoke lovingly of the program. Cats such as Smokey and Aurora were on hand to “help.”
“All donations are appreciated,” said Beaton. “It’s been a slower year.”
