The government has announced an online public health resource for businesses that are set to open later this week in stage one of Alberta’s relaunch plan.
The website, Alberta Biz Connect, offers sector-specific and general workplace guidelines on public health measures that need to be in place before a business or organization is able to reopen. The website will also include guidelines for businesses that are already operating under public health orders.
Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism, Tanya Fir, said that information will be updated frequently and there will be a platform for businesses to ask questions. There will be a link to Business Link on the website and there will also be a red tape suggestion portal – similar to the one in Ontario – that will enable businesses to comment on ways the government can reduce red tape.

In an update tomorrow, the website will give a list of PPE providers and the recommended PPE for each sector.
Businesses and organizations set for stage one relaunch include:
- Day camps
- Daycare and out-of-school care
- Hair salons and barbershops
- Museums and art galleries
- Outdoor recreation
- Places of worship
- Restaurants
- Retail
