UPDATE: Airdrie RCMP say the police activity in Hillcrest is now over, as of 4:45 p.m., and area residents may return home if they were not already.
According to a press release from the detachment, Airdrie RCMP was assisting the Calgary Police Services with one of its investigations and any inquiries should be referred to CPS.

Airdrie RCMP members are currently in the Hillcrest Square neighbourhood in the south, responding to a serious incident, according to a press release from the detachment.
"Please stay inside your residence at this time and do not report anything you may see on social media," read the release.
