The Airdrie Public Library (APL) has announced details of its reopening plan.
The library's building will be open to the public July 6. According to a press release, APL will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The first hour on weekdays will be designated for seniors and other at-risk individuals.
“Strict sanitation protocols have been implemented, including a 72-hour quarantine period for returned library material,” the press release stated.
To ensure the safety of all visitors, no more than 70 people will be allowed in the building at a time. APL asks patrons to restrict their visit to 30 minutes. Bookings for computers can be reserved online or at the public service desk.
APL closed its doors to the public in mid-March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the library’s staff has expanded its online resources and will continue to provide online digital content and programming through the library's website at airdirepubliclibrary.ca
“We are thrilled to be welcoming the public back to the Library, but ask for everyone’s co-operation in staying home when they are sick and in following our pandemic safety rules in the library," the release said.
