Airdrie firefighters respond to house fire in Meadowbrook

A house fire in Meadowbrook on Jan. 22 drew a response from Airdrie Fire Department crews.

Airdrie Fire Department Crews were kept busy on Sunday afternoon, responding to a structure fire in the Meadowbrook neighbourhood.

According to a press release, the structure fire was reported just before 3 p.m. on Jan. 22 in the 100 block of Mayfair Close SE, where fire crews arrived to find a fire burning on the exterior of a single-storey residence.

The released added that two residents were home at the time of the fire, and both safely evacuated the structure before the arrival of the fire department. No injuries were reported in the incident.

“The blaze had breached the soffit and made its way into the attic of the home,” the release stated. “Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control.”

The Fire Prevention Bureau attended the scene to conduct their incident investigation. A cause of the blaze has not yet been reported to local media.
